A Healthy Heart - Part I, Vera Resnick RCHom, Classical Homeopath

You need a healthy heart to live well, everyone agrees. But are we all talking about the same thing?

What is the heart? If you ask any doctor, you will be told that the heart is a rather essential organ, situated in the chest, which pumps blood - around the body to deliver oxygen and other substances, towards the lungs to receive oxygen. A more or less concise story.

But there’s always the other side of the story…

The heart: the center of activity, everything radiates from the heart, everything returns to the heart. We give with all our heart, we give heartfelt thanks when we receive, we love with pink heart-shaped pictures, we draw hearts and flowers, hearts with arrows and initials - and it’s just a pump? Plumbing?

OK, I’m getting to the point. You need a healthy heart to live well. We all agree on that. But I’m not just talking about a healthy pump here.

Every organ in the body feels our emotions. Those familiar with Candace Pert’s work (Molecules of Emotion) will recognize these concepts. Every emotion we have creates a chemical pattern which washes through the body. Modern medicine is putting greater emphasis on stress as a disease trigger. People are starting to wake up to an important truth:

You need a healthy heart to live. You need a happy heart to live well, to live as you can, to live life to the full, to LIVE in capital letters! And a truly healthy heart is a happy heart.

Alternative medicine relates to focal energy points in the body, often referred to as chakras.

To be continued in the next installment of A Healthy Heart.
